This position is responsible for all phases of architectural design as it pertains to new construction, renovations, alterations, modifications and design-assist opportunities.
Provide stamped drawings for worked performed on behalf of A/Z consistent with the Professional Code of Conduct for Architects. In turn, A/Z will indemnify you for work performed under your applicable licenses;
Ensure that proposed designs match client objectives for functionality, aesthetics and budget.
Coordinate efforts of A/Z architects with other design disciplines, both internal and external;
Preparing applications and assist in the approval process for regulatory planning, zoning, wetland, building departments, or for any Agencies Having Jurisdiction (AHJ s);
Perform regular site visits to check on progress and product quality in the deployment of construction;
Research and analyze customer design requirements and associated performance data to evaluate the feasibility, design considerations, probable cost, operability and maintenance requirements of designs or applications;
Interface with outside vendors for best components or system selections as it pertains to the application requirements which ensure conformance with design and performance specifications;
Implement and participate in Green Building Design & Construction practices as recognized by industry recognized associations such as USGBC and LEED Accreditation;
Support and perform building code analysis and detailed design development that is consistent with industry best practices, OEM requirements, and any specific technical standards;
Maintain operational proficiency of the latest in design software solutions with computer-assisted design/drafting (CAD 2D / 3D modeling within a BIM environment) and clash detection applications (i.e. Revit, AutoCad, Navisworks, QuickPen, etc.);
Participate in required peer reviews with project team members providing insight and confirmation regarding design completeness, code compliance, constructability evaluations, alternative means and methods, and scope of service definition for associated qualifications, clarifications, and conditions;
Adherence to Corporate Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies and best-practices in the deployment of all work related activities;
Maintain all Corporate Standards with applicable Project Control requirements to ensure financial and administrative responsibility, in conjunction with risk management;
Provide project financial management for all applicable project commitments, contract changes, and claim resolution for all out-of-scope services to be performed in accordance with Corporate Standards;
Provide a pro-active and positive Client interface throughout the delivery of services;
Assist in the business development efforts of the Corporation, potentially including developing conceptual designs, preparing design statements of work and budgets and participating in customer preliminary meetings and interviews, ;
Identify continuous improvement opportunities and embrace technology enhancements;
Promote, foster and maintain open communication among all project team members, consultants, inspectors, applicable agencies, and the supporting subcontractors and trade participants;
Participation in lessons learned sessions, operational development initiatives, and best practice training to support a continuous improvement working philosophy.
