Job Overview: The responsibility of the Manager of Investigations is to support their assigned Trade Area of business by providing leadership, expertise, and training for the Asset Protection Managers (APM) in their assigned stores while impacting the reduction of inventory shortage and controllable losses. The primary focus of the Manager of Investigations lies in supporting and developing the APMs to become independent in all aspects of internal investigations and support of the Organized Retail Crime (ORC) strategy, driving all investigative programs, and manage high profile investigations. The ideal candidate must be able to work under pressure, have an entrepreneurial spirit, strong organization skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple teams. To be successful, the Manager of Investigations must consistently demonstrate the following essential functions. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Functions: Fueled by Power of Relationships Develop and manage the overall internal investigations and ORC strategy for each store within their respective Trade Area. Identify and communicate site-specific processes and programs for the enhancement of the stores shortage results. Foster effective business partnerships at all levels. Review and analyze field integrity interviews for feedback and/or training. Lead in the development and implementation of each stores internal investigations and ORC strategy. This includes working with the Asset Protection leadership of each store within the Trade Area to develop an internal strategy that is actionable, practical, and measurable. Driven by our Desire to Win Perform in-person and phone integrity interviews. Responsible for all internal investigations and ORC case management, including the training of the Asset Protection leadership to initiate, fully investigate, and close investigations in a timely manner. Effectively handle multiple tasks and projects through completion while demonstrating the ability to communicate the findings clearly and effectively. Effectively present data for prosecution and/or to business partners. Ability to develop investigations through exception reporting and trend analysis. Continually update and revise tools, systems and reporting for optimum performance. Conduct weekly/monthly report on status of investigations and communicate any potential impact on the business to senior leadership. Committed to a Culture of Collaboration and Continuous Learning Administer and enforce the policies and standards of the Asset Protection department. Responsible for the training, development, and performance of the Asset Protection teams. Not limited to interview training, red flag training, internal investigations, ORC strategies, loyalty fraud, reseller/diverter awareness and excessive refund investigations. The ability to mentor colleagues by living the core values of the organization. Qualifications: Education/Experience: Bachelors Degree. 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within retail industry. Multi-unit Asset Protection experience preferred. Investigative/Interview experience, Wicklander-Zulawski training preferred. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Skilled in fostering a collaborative work environment and building meaningful relationships. Able to translate research findings and data analysis into actionable insights and strategies. Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Reasoning Ability: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize next steps with diverse peer and senior teams and meet tight deadlines. Strong data analysis and data visualization skills. Problem solving skills with ability to adapt to shifting priorities. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Physical Demands: This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting, hearing, and talking. May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Involves use of hands and fingers for typing on keyboard and using a mouse. May need to lift or move items up to 10 pounds. Other Skills: Microsoft applications experience preferred. Ability to balance competing priorities. Strong follow-up skills and sense of urgency. Work Hours: Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
