Associate Director, Sales & Marketing Analytics:

My client, a fully integrated, global biopharmaceutical company located in a western Boston suburb, has a diversified commercial product portfolio in CNS. Their pipeline is strong and expanding and includes late-stage drug candidates for the treatments of schizophrenia and major depressive disorder, along with three promising new drug candidates in the areas of multiple sclerosis, pain and oncology.

I am currently seeking an Associate Director, Sales & Marketing Analytics for this client. This is a new position, reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing Analytics.


  • 7+ years analytics experience with a minimum of 4 in pharma
  • Experience in marketing analytics and/or sales analytics preferred
  • CNS experience is a plus
  • Injectables experience is a plus
  • Launch experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of pharma data sources, i.e., IQVIA and Symphony Health
  • Tableau experience preferred
  • Veeva and experience preferred
  • Desire and ability to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty
  • Must be office-based (Boston area) not a remote position
  • The Associate Director, Sales & Marketing Analytics, is key member of the team providing analytical support to the Sales & Marketing function (Brand Marketing, Field Sales Leadership) of a growing commercial organization with two approved products (one for the treatment of addiction and another for the treatment of schizophrenia) and a portfolio of pipeline product candidates. This position will be the primary analytical business partner for CNS Marketing and will provide analytical support to CNS Sales Leadership as well. In addition, this position will work closely with peers in Corporate Planning, Commercial IT and other functions on cross-functional deliverables. This position will report to the Director, Sales & Marketing Analytics.


  • Partner with Sales & Marketing leaders and other stakeholders to identify key business questions and knowledge gaps that can be addressed via analyses and reports. Areas of focus include the following: Track performance of markets and product launchesQuantify treatment provider landscapes and segmentsDevelop brand performance analytics and metricsEvaluate effectiveness of marketing and field efforts; identify challenges and opportunities; provide actionable insights / recommendationsSupport business plan development and execution tracking
  • Determine required data sources (internal and external) to address business questions
  • Add depth to insights by developing a thorough understanding of all key brand commercial dynamics, including disease state, market landscape, product attributes, unmet needs, key treatment providers / prescribers and payers
  • Provide ongoing, high-level strategic consulting to all internal stakeholders to ensure maximum leverage of insights
  • Manage vendors and data sources used for analyses
  • Work with Corporate Planning, Commercial IT, Finance and Program Management on cross functional solutions
  • Mentor and support the development of analysts

  • Bachelor s degree in business, science or quantitative disciplines such as mathematics or statistics required, Master s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years in an analytics role and 4 years in biopharma
  • Experience with sales & marketing analytics preferred
  • Experience with specialty injectables, CNS products and product launches preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and SQL skills; proficient with Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience with Tableau preferred
  • Experience working with large datasets and relational databases
  • Working knowledge of CRM solutions; knowledge of Veeva or preferred
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceutical data sources such as IQVIA and Symphony Health
