Corporate & Investment Banking Summer Analyst
Summer Analysts in our Corporate & Investment Banking program are placed within one of the following groups (please reference your area of interest on your cover letter)
Communication, Media, and Telecom (CMT): The CMT Group at TD Securities (USA) LLC is recognized for its leading industry expertise, underwriting and distribution capabilities. Our team is focused on originating lead managed transactions with both corporate and financial sponsor backed businesses operating in the CMT universe. Our senior banking professionals have significant knowledge and transaction expertise in the cable, cable programming, telecom, satellite, fibre, tower, data centre, and select other vertical sub-sectors.
Credit: Analysts in our Credit groups are involved with the structuring, execution and monitoring of debt transactions from inception through closing. Working with clients in a variety of industries, you will gain exposure to different business models and industry dynamics.
Large Cap Banking: Working with Large Cap, multi-national clients, LCB serves as the central coverage group delivering the full suite of products and services across TD. We work along various product partner groups (DCM, Leveraged Finance, ECM, Global Transaction Banking), to address and service the needs of our clients. Client pitch work typically includes analysis around; capital structure and capital allocation, liquidity, company and industry analysis, rating agency, as well as M&A, valuation, and debt capacity analysis. As part of managing lending relationships on behalf of the bank we work alongside our counterparts to analyze and execute a variety of capital commitments for our clients.
Syndicated & Leveraged Finance: The Syndicated & Leveraged Finance team is responsible for structuring and raising debt capital across the investment and non-investment grade spectrum to support clients with respect to acquisitions, leveraged buy-outs, refinancings & recapitalizations, and other general corporate purposes. Debt products include first lien, second lien and unsecured credit facilities, asset-based revolving credit facilities, high yield bonds, and bridge facilities. Summer Analyst responsibilities may include assisting in various market and credit analyses to include in pitches (including credit agreement and indenture covenant analyses, leverage comparable analyses, market updates, database tracking, etc.), drafting slides for both client and internal meetings, and creating supporting analyses for various client and internal requests.
Summer Analysts applicants must be entering their junior year by September 2019. We accept candidates from a variety of educational backgrounds; however, a major or significant coursework in a business-related field is required, along with a combination of strong financial/analytical skills and excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Successful candidates must have the capacity to become adept at financial modeling and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
